NCACDC, in partnership with Democracy North Carolina and the Rocky Mount OIC, hosted a Community Summit

in Rocky Mount on Saturday, April 21, 2018. The Summit featured dynamic inter-generational panel discussions

by local community leaders on issues such as gun violence, educational equity and neighborhood improvement

concerns. The Community Summit agenda brought together community-based neighborhood leaders,

representatives of service delivery organizations, local agency personnel, faith-based institutions and other

interested parties, including youth students from schools in Rocky Mount who participated in both panels to

voice their concerns about issues impacting their neighborhoods and their perspectives on solutions to fix

these problems.

In partnership with the Association of Mexicans in North Carolina (AMEXCAN), NC A&T University, and the Center

for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS), NCACDC is lauching a Latino Growers Academy Series designed to

equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to start their own small scale, agricultural entrepreneurship

ventures. This bilingual series is open to the entire community and will convene on the following dates:

May 5th, May 26th, June 9th and June 16th 2018. Read about upcoming events.
